Flash Drive.

Aspen, CO, August 2, 2010–– The Studio for Arts + Works (SAW) will feature a First Friday benefit for Flash Bell and Anderson Ranch Art Center’s student scholarships. Flash Bell, one of the studio dogs at SAW, was recently hit by a car. Some of SAW’s friends have generously donated works to a group show called “Flash Drive.”

A portion of the evening’s proceeds will go to Flash’s veterinary bills. Other proceeds will be donated to Anderson Ranch’s scholarship funds. Artists featured at “Flash Drive” will include: James Surls, Mark Cesark, Rick Parsons, Brad Reed Nelson, Doug Casebeer, John Hitchcock, Jason Schneider, Erin Dinsmoor, Elizabeth Ferrel, Paul Collins, Stanley Bell, Steven Colby, Carly Rebeiz, Diane Kenney, Alleghany Meadows, Sam Harvey, K. Rynus Cesark, among others.

The event will take place during Carbondale’s “First Fridays” celebration starting at 6:00pm at SAW, 978 Euclid Ave. “Flash Drive” is free and open to the public.

Designed as a collaborative space for creative professionals and professional creatives, the Studio for Arts and Works (SAW) was remodeled from a chainsaw shop into artist studios and minimalist, industrial-style offices on a modest budget using non-toxic, salvaged and recycled materials wherever possible.

The tenant mix at SAW (4 potters, 2 painters, a jeweler, a glass artist and 10 service professionals) showcases our commitment to enhancing the vitality of our community through our work. The SAW gallery space, open to the public, hosts local artists on a monthly basis and has become an essential stop on Carbondale’s monthly “First Fridays” gallery walk.
