A Carbondale resident for 20 years, I have been painting, drawing and sculpting for nearly half a century. Formally educated in the early 70’s at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia, I have also studied over the years with many wonderful teachers across the country. Working in different mediums, including watercolor, acrylic, pastel and clay, keeps my work fresh and constantly changing.
My art reflects my love of the human figure, animals, color, story telling, and humor. Working mainly in watercolor and clay at present, I try to represent the connection I feel with each of my subjects through facial expression, gesture, color and light. My hope is that when people look at my work they will smile and connect in some way with their own stories and memories of people and events in their lives.
