I’m a mixed media artist based in Colorado. My paintings explore the intersection of abstraction and nature through a female perspective. I find my inspiration in nature —photographing textures on lichen and moss and fungi growing along mountain streams.

My artistic process begins by looking for interesting textures, colors and patterns. I capture a magnified image and, up close, the familiar is surreal. I use a reverse ink transfer process to integrate photographic shapes and images onto the canvas. With the richness of paint, the images come alive with tactile layers and amplified colors. Lichen or moss transforms into an aerial view of a forest or appears like an underwater landscape.
